100-Inch TV, Meet 100-Inch Fireplace
At Lance Anderson’s home on Prior Lake, an awe-inspiring stone accent wall is the centerpiece of a family gathering space that fuses cutting-edge technology with seamless design. Featuring a custom 100-inch gas fireplace paired with a matching 100-inch television and flanked by towering seven-foot speakers, the installation is a triumph of intentionality and innovation.
Anderson, founder of Admit One Home Systems and a self-proclaimed tech enthusiast, had a clear vision: create an extraordinary yet cohesive space that safely combines both a TV and fireplace. To bring this idea to life, he partnered with Mikan Custom Homes, Murphy & Co. Design, and Stellar by Heat & Glo. “The challenge was making every element feel like it belonged — like it was always meant to be there,” Anderson explains.Rooted in a mountain-modern aesthetic, the 4,700-square-foot home blends natural materials with sweeping views of Prior Lake. From the outset, builder Mike Youngs emphasized a palette of wood, blackened steel, and stone to anchor the home in its surroundings. Expanses of glass invite the outdoors in, while features like an indoor waterfall provide a tranquil introduction as guests ascend to the great room.
The home’s centerpiece is a masterfully designed Orijin stone wall that stretches from the exterior, through the great room, and out onto the deck. At its heart, a custom Enlight fireplace by Stellar commands attention. "Modern design often struggles to incorporate traditional fireplaces, but the linear Enlight fireplace was the perfect fit," says Dan Demeules, partner and lead designer at Murphy & Co. Design. The fireplace and TV were meticulously aligned to sit flush within the stone wall, a design feat achieved through Stellar’s advanced engineering. “We needed the TV and fireplace on the same plane, and Stellar was the only team capable of making it happen,” says Anderson.
The solution? A cantilevered design that balances depth and airflow to ensure both elements function flawlessly. Ross Morrison of Stellar explains, “Very few manufacturers can execute this level of heat management. It’s all about precise engineering to keep the TV, speakers, and fireplace in harmony — visually and mechanically.”
The result is a room that marries bold technology with understated sophistication. Custom-cut blackened steel surrounds the fireplace, creating backlit openings that seamlessly integrate the finishing materials. These thoughtful details elevate the design, proving that beauty often lies in the complexity behind the scenes.
“I wanted to push boundaries and create something I hadn’t seen before,” Anderson reflects. His great room is more than a gathering space — it’s a testament to what happens when innovation and artistry converge, achieving the impossible with Stellar.
